MARC JACOBS
Mr. Jacobs trained at the London Academy of
Music and Dramatic Art, and, after graduation, performed with
several of this continent's leading regional theaters including the Guthrie
Theatre of Minneapolis, the American Shakespeare Festival and the Stratford
Festival of Canada where he received the Tyrone Guthrie Award. Returning to
the American Shakespeare Festival for a second season, he directed the
Journeyman program and directed that company's New Plays Series. For three
seasons, Marc was a lead actor with San Franciscoí's Magic Theatre and the
Berkeley Stage Company. In television he co-starred with Robert Loggia in
the docudrama The People vs. Inez Garcia and spent two years in a
recurring role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. He has directed
plays, musicals, concerts and operas for the Magic Theatre, New York City
Opera, the Houston Opera Center, American Musical Theatre and Los Angeles
Music Center Opera. On Broadway he assisted Director Hal Prince on the
short-lived musical Roza. He has taught acting at the Magic Theatre,
Cal State Long Beach, San Francisco State, Menlo College and AMTSJ. He is
Associate Artistic Director of AMTSJ and has directed The Music
Man, Kismet, La Cage aux Folles, Phantom, Singing in the Rain, Joseph
and the Dream Coat, The Sound of Music, On the 20th Century, and
The Most Happy Fella for that company.
